Warehouse and stock management (WMS)

Receiving, put-away, picking, rolling inventories: entry happens on the handheld, at the actual workstation, and stock stops being an estimate.

In most warehouses we see, recorded stock and physical stock drift apart slowly. Nobody is lying: movements are keyed in the evening, from memory, off annotated notes. Every hour between the action and the entry is an opportunity for a discrepancy.

What a WMS changes

Entry happens at the moment of the action

Receiving, put-away, transfer, picking, dispatch: each movement is scanned on the handheld as it happens. No more annotated notes to re-key, no more "I think we took three".

Locations and addressing

Every item has a location, and the application says where to find it. A new picker becomes useful on day one instead of in week three - often the most immediate gain.

Guided picking and dispatch checking

The picking path is ordered, and the scanned item is checked against the order line. A wrong reference is stopped in the warehouse, not at the customer's - where it costs a return, a credit note and an explanation.

Rolling inventories instead of closures

Counts by zone or family, spread over time, with evidence before adjustments are approved. Closing for a day for an annual count costs more than the discrepancies it reveals.

Traceability: batches, serials, dates

Batch number, serial number, expiry date depending on your trade. In a recall or a dispute, finding where a specific batch went takes one search, not a day in the archives.

What makes stock reliable

An issue larger than what is available is blocked, not recorded and corrected next month. Counting discrepancies are logged with who and why. It is constraining for the first few weeks, and it is why your figures are still right six months later.

With your existing system

A WMS replaces neither your accounting nor your sales management. Under Sage 100 or Sage X3, movements are written there directly, with your rules and your valuation. The warehouse gains a field tool; accounting does not change its source of truth.

The hardware

Rugged Android handhelds (Zebra, Honeywell) with their physical trigger, or simply a phone camera to start cheaply. The application works offline: a basement warehouse stays covered, and entries synchronise when the signal returns.

What we do not do

We do not drive conveyors or storage robots, and we do not optimise your aisle layout by computation. We do not replace a market WMS that suits you: we connect to it.
